Emerging Adulthood
Emerging adulthood can be tough because everyone is at different points in their lives, which can make things feel confusing and overwhelming. Some people are graduating from college and figuring out what's next, while others have already started their careers or are starting families. Some are still trying to figure things out, while others seem to have it all together. This can lead to feelings of pressure and uncertainty, especially when comparing yourself to others. Counseling can help by providing support, helping people understand their own path, and encouraging self-acceptance during this time of change.
Young adults often are faced with the difficulty of navigating the unique challenges and transitions of the life stage emerging adulthood, typically between the ages of 18 and 29. During this period, young adults are often grappling with questions about identity, career choices, relationships, and independence. Our counselors at Sorella House provide guidance in exploring personal values, establishing meaningful goals, and developing coping strategies for stressors such as academic pressure, financial concerns, and shifting family dynamics. Therapy can also support emotional growth, mental health, and the development of resilience as emerging adults learn to balance newfound autonomy with the complexities of adulthood. Through counseling, individuals are empowered to build self-awareness, make informed decisions, and foster healthy, adaptive behaviors for a successful transition into full adulthood.
