Release Stress, Heal Anxiety, & End Depression

The stressors of life increase anxiety, erode our confidence, and chip away at our physical health, leaving us vulnerable to depression. Major depression is characterized by a low mood, hopelessness, low self-esteem, and the lack of pleasure in activities the person once enjoyed. People experiencing depression often report high levels of anxiety. Major depression is more severe and longer lasting then dysthymia, a milder form of depression.

Bipolar depression consists of periods of “highs” in which the person is unusually optimistic and energetic, often going for days without sleep, then followed by “lows” of depression.

In many cases, depression is compounded by other serious difficulties, including drug and alcohol addictions, compulsive behaviors such as gambling or spending, eating disorders, and sexual addictions. These struggles are more common among those who have suffered emotional, physical, or sexual abuse as a way of coping with the repressed pain.
